Q: We live outside Yorkshire, but we'd like to book you. Do your prices include travel?
Yes, my packages include travel within a 50 mile radius of Leeds City Centre. I will travel anywhere to shoot your wedding, so if you are further away then just let me know and we'll sort something out. I don't charge much extra, just enough to cover the additional travel and sometimes (if you're really far away) a hotel near by. If you're getting married abroad or are having an elopement please contact me for more details.
Q: Should we be providing you with a meal on our wedding day?
A hot meal on the day is always a huge plus, but not compulsory. I try to take a break during your meal. Its a great opportunity for me to grab a bite to eat, have a drink and make sure all my equipment is ready to go again!
Q: After the wedding how long is it until we get to see our photos?
I try my best to share a few highlights of the day with you within a week of your wedding. You'll then receive a full online gallery within 6 weeks.
Q: Do you bring an assistant?
I generally work alone on the day, putting my heart and soul into my photography. Sometimes an extra pair of hands is needed and so I'll bring along an assistant (sometimes my husband, he's very handy.) If you'd like to have a second shooter to capture different angles and elements of your day then that can be organised for an additional fee.
Q: Can we meet up before hand? I'd like to feel comfortable with you.
We can definitely meet up. I love to talk about wedding plans and get excited for you. It's always really great to get to know you a little before your big day. As well as meeting up for a chat we could also organise a pre-wedding shoot if you've not got one booked already!
Q: Do you do posed family or group photos?
I completely understand how important it is that you have some group photos of all your friends and family. They are lovely for you to have but also for your family to have a copy of after the wedding. If group photos are requested, I would recommend allowing about 5 minutes per photo, so please try and make sure you allow enough time to get through your list. And I'd recommend appointing someone with a loud voice to round people up quickly ready for the shots.
Q: How much time should we allow for our portraits?
It would be ideal to allow 45-60 minutes for your portraits, this can be spread out over the day. So perhaps 20 minutes or so after the ceremony and then again early evening. I don't like to take you away from your guests for too long, and we can work around when the light is best and what else you have planned.
Q: How many photos will we receive? Will they all be edited?
For a full day, you'll receive around 300 photographs, I can't guarantee the actual number as every wedding is different but they will all be edited in my style and there will be a selection of black and white images as well.
Q: How do you take payment? What about deposits?
I can take payment either by debit/credit card and also via bank transfer. A deposit of £500 or 50% (whichever is lower) is payable on booking unless otherwise agreed. The remaining balance is due 60 days before your wedding. I also offer payment plans, so let me know if you'd like to find out more.
Q: Do you have business insurance? Should I get wedding insurance?
I am fully insured and I am able to provide venues with a copy of my certificate if requested.
I would definitely recommend getting wedding insurance, sometimes venues close down, sometimes things happen that are out of your control and circumstances change. Wedding insurance helps with all of these situations that may arise.
Q: What if it rains?!
You can never predict the English weather, and so we will always try and work out a back up plan before the big day. I'll always try and do a recce of your wedding venue and talk to your co-ordinator to find out what rooms and areas are being used and what could be made available should the worst happen with the weather.
Sometimes you just have to brave the elements for a little bit, its all part of the fun!
Q: Will you share our images online?
There will be definitely be photographs from your big day that I just love. I will always share a few on my social pages and will probably write a short blog post in the months after your big day. If I were to submit or be asked to submit a select few images to wedding magazines or blogs then I will always ask your permission before doing so. I may also ask you for a testimonial as well. It's great to get some feedback on your experience of the day.
